Phase 1 covers an area of 142 hectares. The Aire Valley Leeds enterprise zone benefits from superb transport links being located at Junction 45 of the M1 and benefits from close proximity to Leeds city centre, the main driver of the regional economy, with fast, frequent and high quality bus connections.
Phase 2 of the programme comprises of multiple sites: Gain Lane (Bradford), Parry Lane (Bradford), Staithgate Lane (Bradford), Clifton Business Park (Calderdale), Lindley Moor East (Kirklees), Lindley Moor West (Kirklees), Moor Park Mirfield (Kirklees), South Kirkby Business Park (Wakefield) and Langthwaite Business Park (Wakefield). The second phase aims to promote advanced manufacturing growth, building on the regions strong manufacturing heritage.
Companies locating within the Enterprise Zone will benefit from a wide range of incentives, including (depending on which Enterprise Zone site):
- Reduced business rates (worth up to £275,000 over a five-year period), or
- Enhanced capital allowance tax relief of qualifying plant and machinery
