Wakefield grants permission for two job creating new warehouses
The application site covers approximately 74 acres of land located at Trinity Farm in Knottingley.
Consultancy Turleys secured full approval for a distribution building with a maximum floorspace of 1.37 million sq m which is set to be occupied by TK Maxx.
The facility will replace an existing depot in Wakefield. Initially 600 staff will work at the new base when it opens in 2017, but this is expected to increase to 1,900 by 2023.
Outline permission, with all matters reserved, was also secured for a second phase covering 592,000 sq ft. This is expected to support up to 800 jobs when constructed.
Plans by Caddick Construction for two new warehouses in Knottingley, set to support up to 2,700 jobs, have been granted permission by Wakefield Council.
