The Conference and Hospitality Show offers unsigned artists the opportunity to play at the first direct Arena, Leeds
The Conference and Hospitality Show, the leading event in the North for event organisers and PAs, is giving unsigned artists the chance to play at the prestigious first direct Arena, Leeds during the show on the 26th April 2016.
Emma Cartmell, managing director, CHS Group said: The first direct Arena is a world class music venue and is synonymous with some of the biggest names in rock and pop. We are offering unsigned artists a once in a lifetime opportunity to play in the same venue as their heroes. The venue has a large entrance hall, so the artists will perform acoustic sets to entertain visitors as they make their way through it to the exhibition hall. We are also looking for artists to play in our back stage VIP area to entertain our hosted buyers and VIPs as they relax away from the show floor. This year we are focused on creating Rock Star event planners, so this exciting opportunity gives both unsigned artists a great platform to shine and perform in front of a live audience whilst adding some fun to our show - without distracting from the business environment of the show floor. We really hope to find some stars in the making!
So far, four young artists have been booked to play a 30 60 minute acoustic set in the entrance area of the venue, and the organisers are looking for more artists to play.
Artists confirmed to date are:
Bre Musiq a young soul singer from Middlesbrough.
Boo a 17 year old from Teesside.
Ty Lewis a 14 year old singer songwriter
Josh Newall-Brown a young folk-pop singer from Saltburn.
(more information and links to each artists videos and websites are below)
CHS is promoting the bands through social media and traditional marketing, and allowing them to hand out CDs and other promotional material to visitors.

Bre Musiq
There is no doubt that the dictionary got the word music wrong. Bre Musiq is everything you need to know when it comes to defining music. With artists such as Usher and Stevie Wonder as his inspirations, it is clear to see how Bres talent infiltrates every branch of your soul. Born in Zimbabwe and cultivated in Middlesbrough, his combination of pure emotion-led expression and the smooth slow jam affection of his voice is enough to bring even the coldest heart to boiling point. Now one of the most original and influential male musicians in the North East, he has supported Professor Green, Alexander ONeal and Tinie Tempah. As a child, little Bre was lucky enough to have been surrounded by gospel choirs and live music, picking up a world of experience in performing to crowds and developing the addictive allure that were captivated by today. With the charisma of a vintage Hollywood gentleman rogue and the talent of some of the greatest multi award-winning artists of the last two centuries, Bre Musiq needs not only to be seen and heard, but also felt deep down in your heart. Currently working on his soon to be released Live EP, Bre is working hard to deliver you the most shudder inducing performances he can give. Look out, its time for a new Musiq-al obsession.

Boo
Meet Teessides 17 year old singer song writer Bethanie Coates better known as Boo.From the tender age of 11, Boo has been wowing the crowds with her powerful vocals and loveable personality. Steadily building a fan base, Boo has already supported artist such as Cover Drive, Loveable Rogues, Amelia Lilly and many more past X Factor contestants. Boos biggest musical influence is Prince; she is widely known for belting out her rendition of Purple Rain. Boo also likes to take inspiration from the powerful vocals of Amy Lee and Christina Aguilera loving to mix rock with the essence of pop. In 2013 Boo put her own twist on the 1990s classic Stay by Shakespeare Sister, Marcella Detroit requested to listen to Boos version and wrote this: Wow. Very impressed. Ive got chills! She has quite a depth of emotion, especially for someone who is 15. A beautiful strength and purity in her voice. well done!Having just released her first music video Stuck on VEVO, Boo has followed this up by releasing Stuck as a single on the 17th February available to buy on iTunes and other digital download sites.

Ty Lewis
A voice this angelic very rarely escapes the lungs of a real human being, but 14 year old future heart breaker, Ty Lewis, also breaks the mould. With his teenage swagger and his cheeky command of this voice that hes been crafting his entire life, Tys singer/ song writing career is way ahead of simply fledgling. Like Justin Bieber before him, Ty takes the sweet tones and sharp note changes of his chords and performs soul/pop as successfully as his inspirations - including Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran and Tori Kelly. Growing up watching music channels, having singing lessons since the age of nine and learning guitar since 2013 makes Ty Lewis a force to be reckoned with. Having won Newcastle Childrens Talent Show and RU: Talented, the local area is paying close attention to Ty. In fact, the RU: Talented win resulted in one of Tys songs being played on TFM and Metro Radio, both part of one of the biggest radio groups in the UK. For Ty Lewis this is the start of a future that hes always been confident in and he one day hopes to be standing with, singing on the same stage as or even singing alongside his idols. Ty Lewis proves that where theres talent, theres only one path to take the path to success.

Josh Newell-Brown
Hailing from the beautiful coastal town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Josh Newell-Brown has always played, written and recorded music as a way of infecting the world with his flamboyantly colourful spirit and contagiously uplifting nature. With massive sing-along belters, full to the brim with soul and energy, the power he exerts through his vocal can only be attributed to a sort of super hero, super power. If the market has a gap for the Arnold Schwarzenegger of melody, the Sylvester Stallone of rhythm and the Chuck Norris of vocals, then Josh Newell-Brown is the hard-hitting, alternative folk-pop artist to fill it.
