Residential development given the go ahead at Terry's

The conversion of the Grade-II listed building on Bishopthorpe Road into 173 flats will be done by Henry Boot Developments and PJ Livesey, who first acquired the former factory site in April 2013, according to the BBC, after the five storey factory closed in 2005.

Planning officers said building, which opened in 1926, was now in ""structural disrepair"" and had recommended approval. The company is developing 609,840 sq ft, and said it was still working on proposals for the rest of the site.

David Wilson Homes is developing homes on the remaining half of the site.
