Leeds celebrates record Christmas figures
In addition, this year Leeds and Partners and Leeds City Council developed Magical Leeds, a joint campaign, designed to showcase the breadth and depth of the seasonal offer in the city, to drive footfall into the city from both visitors and residents. The campaign showcased the cultural and shopping offer in the city, working with a number of citywide partners, including Yorkshire Post, Trinity Leeds and Opera North.
The footfall cameras in the city, placed in areas like Briggate, Albion Street and The Headrow, have recorded footfall levels of 4,557,456 from 24 November 2014 until 14 December 2014, which is up 3% on 2013 and 8% on 2012 figures.
