North America
Sector leads from both the health and innovation and the financial and professional services sectors have recently visited the United States to meet with potential investors and showcase the opportunities available across Leeds City Region at a number of leading industry events.
The health and innovation sector focused upon both wound care and medical technology and included a joint presence with the University of Huddersfield at the Symposium for Advanced Wound Care Fall as well as meeting with potential investors from Chicago, San Francisco and Boston; this has already resulted in discussions to bring a new international wound care conference to the region. Similarly the City Regions attendance at Finovate Fall in New York included targeted meetings with potential investors in the FinTech sector, one of the most significant growth opportunities for the UK economy, and the promotion of Leeds City Region as a centre of excellence for financial and professional services.
