Gildersome industrial plans move forward
The redevelopment of Gelderd Road in Gildersome, located at junction 1 of the M621 and junction 27 of the M62, is expected to create approximately 1,500 jobs.
The scheme incorporates a 500,000 sq ft distribution centre, warehousing and a mix of light and heavy industrial units.
Planning consultancy Turley, acting for Commercial Development Projects (CDP), has now submitted a first phase reserved matters application to allow enabling works, including site access roads, drainage infrastructure and plot levelling, to commence.
A revised scheme was presented to Leeds City Council in October of 2013 and the reserved matters follows hot-on-the-heels of formal granting of outline approval in April.
Detailed plans have been submitted to enable infrastructure work to start on a major industrial scheme in Leeds which secured outline approval earlier this year.
