The 3M Buckley Innovation Centre at the University of Huddersfield hosted a manufacturing innovation workshop for a delegation of manufacturers from Zhejiang province. The delegation was organised by China-Britain Business Council, who created a programme for the delegation to visit key manufacturing innovation centres across the UK, including the 3M Buckley Innovation Centre and the AMRC.

The market visit was designed to create a dialogue between senior business representatives from Zhejiang Province and UK industry associations, businesses, and universities, to understand how the UK and Zhejiang can work together in the field of manufacturing.

The delegation explored the wide range of research and development activities in the manufacturing sector in the UK, potential opportunities for technology transfer, potential merger and acquisition opportunities, and learnt how the UK education and training system serves the manufacturing sector.

The visit also provided UK organisations with the opportunity to better understand the needs of Zhejiang businesses from the manufacturing sector, as well as the local market conditions and how business partnership can be built going forward.
