Leeds City Region Leaders visit Chinese Consulate
Consul General, Dr Sun Dali, invited Leeds City Region leaders to his residence to discuss Northern Powerhouse-China relations. The meeting was followed by a business roundtable with Chinese businesses and investors.

Consul General, Dr Sun Dali, invited Leeds City Region leaders to his residence to discuss Northern Powerhouse-China relations. LEP Chair, Roger Marsh OBE, Managing Director of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, Ben Still, and Chief Executive of Bradford City Council, Kersten England, led the discussions, focusing on the fantastic existing links between the region and China, and the desire to do more.
The mission of the Consulate General is to promote the friendly exchanges between the Chinese people and the British people, boost the substantial cooperation in various areas including politics, economy and trade, science, education, culture, and twinning cities. Dr Sun Dali is responsible for driving forward China’s relationship with the Northern Powerhouse and creating greater business links.
The meeting was followed by a business roundtable with Chinese businesses and investors, including representatives from Suman Education Centre, and Inprime Logistics Management. The businesses were all keen to learn more about the opportunities for investment in property and infrastructure within the region, in addition to learning more about products manufactured within Leeds City Region and the potential to export products to China.
