Space Hub Yorkshire

Space Hub Yorkshire is a coordinator of Space activity across the region, a catalyst for new satellite and geospatial data markets, a source of Space expertise, a facilitator of new collaborations, a driver of investments, a champion for Space start-ups and an advocate for Space research and industry opportunities. They aim to unlock Space for the people and businesses of Yorkshire through connecting, promoting and guiding innovation.

It has achieved this by a commercial and pragmatic approach that has brought together the leading private sector businesses, academia, plus local and national government. Space Hub Yorkshire has mapped its ecosystem and identified world-class strengths in Radio Frequency (RF), Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), and Earth Observatory all of which underpin rapidly growing satellite, IoT, GPS and defence applications. To continue the sustained growth of these specialist areas of expertise, regional academia is aligning curriculum to ensure a continuing skills pipeline. Space Hub Yorkshire is proactively engaging with the international Space and satellite community to understand where there might be a complimentary ‘strategic fit’ in skills and expertise.
