ConferenceLeeds invests in international proposition with Visitor Economy Business Development Manager appointment
26 November 15: The official conference desk for Leeds and the surrounding area, ConferenceLeeds, has appointed John Duncan as Visitor Economy Business Development Manager, as part of its newly launched conferencing city proposition. Johns appointment highlights ConferenceLeeds work to proactively target new international and national audiences as part of its new proposition.
In his new role, John will work to drive conference and business events into Leeds both nationally and internationally, as well as attending key events such as IMEX America. IBTM World and IMEX Frankfurt in order to demonstrate the Leeds conferencing city proposition and range of hotels and venues.
Having previously worked in a Business Development Manager role within Leeds City Council, John is very familiar with the city and highly experienced in driving sales and bringing business into the city.
Speaking about his new role, John commented:
Leeds is an exciting conference destination with tremendous growing power and ConferenceLeeds proudly offers over 250 conference venues for hire throughout Leeds and West Yorkshire. We work collaboratively with all of our venues to ensure that we can offer a truly bespoke experience for event planners. Working in this way means Im regularly in contact with Leeds venues as well as conference buyers across the country and across the globe, which is something I truly enjoy about the role.
My new role also allows me to regularly meet with world class speakers and industry professionals that are participating in conferences I am involved with. This, coupled with being able to offer completely tailored events for organisers, is something I relish as it means that no two days, or conferences, are ever the same.
With several national and international conferences in the pipeline for Leeds in 2016, including the Association of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeons (AUGIS) conference and ICCA UK, ConferenceLeeds new proposition is already proving successful.
