A unique perspective
Named National Law Firm of the Year at the Lawyer Awards 2019, Shoosmiths has 13 locations around the UK, including Scotland and Northern Ireland – a national presence that is as much client-driven as it is logistical. This also allows us a uniquely broad perspective on how different regions are approaching the digital agenda.
Digital innovation
What is striking about both the Leeds City Region and London is that both have fully embraced the opportunities that come with being seen as a hub for digital innovation and the ecosystems this creates from local and central government all the way through to emerging tech SMEs and start-ups.
Across our technology, infrastructure and IP teams we already work with a broad range of smart technology suppliers and customers in both locations, and any further cooperation in this space will only magnify the opportunities for both to continue their growth as centres of excellence.
A legal tech hub
And the opportunities don’t stop at digital innovation in well-established sectors such as financial services, healthcare and mobility. We are constantly looking for new opportunities to build technology into the legal services and processes we offer to our clients. Along with stakeholders from across the city’s professional services and technology community, we are partnering in Leeds City Council’s ongoing legal innovation initiative, looking to cement Leeds’ growing reputation as a hub for legal tech, building on the city’s twin strengths of legal services and digital innovation.
