Our network

  1. West Yorkshire Combined Authority

    West Yorkshire Combined Authority brings together local councils and businesses to achieve the shared vision of making our region to be recognised globally as a strong, successful economy where everyone can build great businesses, careers and lives. We want everyone in our region to benefit from economic prosperity supported by a modern, accessible transport network, housing and digital connections. The majority of our work covers the 10 districts of Barnsley, Bradford, Calderdale, Craven, Harrogate, Kirklees, Leeds, Selby, Wakefield and York – an area known collectively as Leeds City Region.
  2. Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP)

    The LEP  works to unlock the City Region’s vast economic potential by enabling businesses to grow and develop. It works with partners across the public and private sectors with the goal of stimulating growth that will create jobs and prosperity for everyone who lives, works and does business here. It develops strategy and policy that's aimed at meeting both the current and the future needs of our region's economy and delivers projects that support businesses and accelerate growth.
  3. Metro

    Metro is the travel brand of West Yorkshire Combined Authority. It operates bus stations, travel centres and public transport information in West Yorkshire, as well as making sure bus services continue to operate where there is a need, subsidising the cost of train services in West Yorkshire, managing the MCard travel card and develops and secures funding for transport improvements.
  4. Invest in Leeds City Region

    Invest Leeds City Region is a joint initiative of Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority. It brings together public and private sectors to create more opportunities for businesses to develop and provide jobs, ensuring they have the tools they need to grow. Its aim is to unlock Leeds City Region’s vast economic potential, stimulating growth and prosperity for everyone who lives, works and does business in the region.
  5. MCard

    MCard is West Yorkshire’s smartcard for travelling on buses and trains, offering tap-and-go convenience for hassle-free journeys. MCard is operated by the West Yorkshire Ticketing Company Limited (WYTCL), a joint venture between the bus and rail operators of West Yorkshire and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority. MCard represents one of the most successful smartcard public transport ticketing schemes outside of London.
  6. City Connect

    CityConnect is an initiative funded by the Department for Transport’s Cycle City Ambition Grant that encourages more people to travel by bike. It is creating a high quality cycle infrastructure through West Yorkshire, with projects like the Leeds to Bradford Cycle Superhighway. It also works with businesses, schools and communities to run engagement initiatives such as cycle training, cycle challenges, business and school support and behaviour change campaigns.
